About G.L.A.M.The Girls Leadership and Mentoring Workshop goal is to empower young women in the community to advocate for themselves and make positive career and life choices. Women from different career fields are invited to attend as Guest Speakers to provide their wisdom and life experiences to participants. The workshop had three theme's in place: Mental Wellness, Self Respect, and Kindness. The following themes were chosen because they are important factors that decrease social isolation hence help prevent gun violence. Participants had the opportunity to walk around the venue and stop by at one of the booths. Each booth had activities that promoted one of the three themes. The girls were also given a chance to sign up for a 25 minute workshop held by the speaker of their choice. |
